The Process Of Dental Implant Placement

2. Our dentist will make an incision in your gum tissue over the implant site in order to expose the jaw bone.
3. We will drill a hole in the jaw bone and place a titanium screw there. This screw is the implant post.
4. We will suture your gum tissue closed and give you after-care instructions.
5. There is a break in the middle of the procedure that lasts for several months. During this time, a process called osseointegration occurs, which is where the implant post fuses to your jaw bone.
6. For the second part of the procedure, we make an incision in your gum tissue to expose the implant post.
7. We will attach an abutment post to the implant post. The abutment extends above the gum line.
8. We will take the dental restoration (which can be a crown, bridge, or denture) and attach it over the abutment post. If you are getting a non-removable restoration, then we will cement it in place.
